The Company

About FIELDLOOM.

FIELDLOOM was founded in 2008 in Puyuan — the wool and fleece textile cluster of Tongxiang, Zhejiang, where blanket weaving has been a regional craft for four generations. We chose to be different from the start: not the cheapest mill, but the mill that brand directors and outdoor product managers actually want to work with.

That meant treating every order as a product, not a commodity. Choosing the right fleece weight for hand-feel. Bonding waterproof backing properly so it doesn't peel after one wash. Sampling a logo until the thread count reads exactly as it does in the brand guideline.

Today our blankets ship to outdoor retailers in Colorado and boutique hotels in the Cotswolds. Every meter is woven, finished, laminated, decorated and quality-controlled under one roof.

FIELDLOOM is the only mill that actually pushed back on our first tech-pack — and they were right. The waterproof backing we'd specified would have peeled. Their counter-spec is now the SKU we re-order every season.

Questions Buyers Ask

Frequently asked questions.

If you're new to sourcing custom blankets and picnic mats from China, here's the short version of what most clients want to clarify before quoting. Drop us a line if your question isn't here.

What is your MOQ for custom blankets and picnic mats? +
Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces per design, per color, per size. For straightforward single-color embroidered logos we can sometimes accommodate 300 pieces. Full jacquard woven throws require a minimum of 1,000 pieces because the loom card set-up is amortized over the run. We're flexible on mixed-spec orders — talk to us and we'll work the math.
How long does production take from order confirmation? +
Standard lead time is 25–40 days after sample approval and 30% deposit. Fleece throws and picnic blankets typically ship in 25–32 days; sublimation prints in 28–35 days; jacquard woven throws need 40–50 days due to loom card making. Sea freight to most US, EU and Middle East ports adds 18–35 days; air freight cuts that to 4–7 days.
Can I get a free physical sample before placing a bulk order? +
Yes for unbranded fabric samples — you only cover the courier (typically USD 30–60 by DHL). For custom-logo proof samples we charge USD 60–180 depending on the technique; this sample fee is fully credited back against your bulk order when you proceed. We send sample photos and a teardown video before couriering, so you know exactly what's coming.
What certifications do your blankets carry? +
Every product we ship is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I certified (the strictest tier, suitable for baby skin contact). Our facility is BSCI audited, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 certified. We can supply GRS-certified recycled-fiber fleece on request, and provide REACH and CPSIA test reports for EU and US compliance. Test reports are issued per order on demand.
What's the difference between coral fleece, sherpa, polar fleece and micromink? +
Polar fleece is the workhorse — flat, dense, mid-pile, great for travel and promotional throws (220–280 GSM). Coral fleece has a fluffier pile and a softer hand, ideal for retail throw blankets (260–320 GSM). Sherpa has a nubby curly faux-shearling face — premium and very warm, often paired with a fleece reverse (320–400 GSM). Micromink is silkier, denser and more luxurious, used for high-end home throws (300–360 GSM). We'll send fabric samples of all four so you can feel the difference.
How does your waterproof backing on picnic blankets actually hold up? +
We laminate PEVA, PU or TPU backing to the fleece face using a heat-bonded process with a stabilizing scrim layer — not a cheap glue lamination, which is what fails in the first wash on lower-grade imports. Our standard backing passes 10+ machine washes at 30°C without peeling or cracking. TPU is the most premium and recyclable option; PEVA is the cost-optimized choice. We share the lamination spec sheet with every quote.
Can you ship under our brand label (private-label / white-label)? +
Yes. We have done this for over 60 brand clients. We produce woven main labels, satin care labels, hangtags, printed polybags, branded carry pouches and custom kraft cartons. All boxes can be printed with your barcode, country of origin and SKU at no premium. We never ship our own branding inside customer-facing packaging.
How do you handle color matching to our Pantone? +
For solid-color dyed blankets we match to Pantone TCX (textile) references, not Pantone C (paper) — we'll convert if you only have a paper reference. Our in-house dye-house produces a small lab-dip for your approval before bulk dyeing. We typically hit a Delta-E under 2.0 on most shades. For sublimation prints we ICC-profile to your color guide and sign off on a strike-off before bulk runs.
